A Filter That Collapses in Citrus County Humidity
The cardboard caved in. The rooms went weak the same week.
We still pull Citrus County filters that folded in the rack after a humid week. The media was not "too efficient." It was too flimsy for the moisture and the pull. A collapsed filter bypasses dirty air around the edges and starves the middle. That is a fit and humidity problem. It is not a reason to jump to a thicker MERV the blower cannot move.
Airflow after a collapse belongs on A/C repair and installation if the coil iced. Filter access and rack condition sit with the same visit. Indoor moisture that keeps cardboard wet may need dehumidifier repair and installation after the rack is honest.
Photograph the collapse, not only the brand
Show the bowed face, the rack, and whether the filter was wet to the touch. A one-inch filter in a humid closet loads and folds faster than a deeper media in a dry wall rack. We will name a filter the system can hold its shape with, not the highest number on a box. Towns include Homosassa and service areas.
